Get ready for an action-packed day of family fun as Heroes & Dragons comes to The Quay and Lake at Lakeside Shopping Centre.
This free community event brings together emergency services, local businesses, retailers and Lakeside’s Charity Partner of the Year, Thurrock Young Carers, for a day filled with entertainment, live demonstrations, fundraising and exciting activities for all ages.
At the heart of the event is the thrilling Dragon Boat Challenge, delivered by the professional team at Race the Dragon Ltd.
Teams of 11 paddlers will race head-to-head across the lake in a series of timed dragon boat races, competing for pride and bragging rights. Whether you’re a local business, community group or simply looking for a unique team experience, everyone is welcome to get involved. No previous experience is needed, as full training, safety briefings, equipment and on-water support are provided.

Away from the water, visitors can get up close with emergency service personnel and explore an impressive display of specialist vehicles and equipment. Throughout the day there will be live demonstrations, interactive community displays and plenty of opportunities to learn more about the organisations that help keep our community safe.
